Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Platform, and you should know that receiving payouts requires a Stripe Connect account, which has its own age and identity requirements you'll need to meet separately.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

You keep ownership of everything you publish on Taongaf — editorials, books and chapters, wall posts, comments, messages and any media you upload. By publishing content, you grant Taongaf a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, distribute and format that content for the purpose of operating the Platform. That license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where copies reasonably persist in backups or where content has already been legitimately viewed, purchased or shared by other users.

You're solely responsible for the content you publish. You confirm you have the rights necessary to publish it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

You agree not to publish or send content that:

• Infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other intellectual property
• Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful or discriminatory
• Depicts or promotes sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual acts
• Contains malware, spam, or attempts to defraud other users
• Impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with anyone

We provide tools to report, block and hide content and other users. We may remove content, suspend features, or restrict accounts that violate these standards, with or without notice, at our reasonable discretion.

Tokens are the Platform's internal currency, purchased with real money through Stripe. Readers spend tokens to unlock priced editorials, books and chapters. Token purchases are non-refundable once completed, except where required by law.

When a reader spends tokens on your content, you receive 90% of the value and Taongaf retains 10% as a platform fee. This split applies to direct token spend on your published work. Earned tokens convert to withdrawable balance in your wallet, subject to the payout process below.

Studio is an optional paid tier for publishers who want analytics, team accounts, surveys and commerce tools, offered at Basic and Pro monthly price points. Studio subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled, and are billed through Stripe. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current billing period unless required by law.

Hustle lets any user promote a creator's content and earn a commission on resulting token spend — no publishing of your own required. The standard Hustle commission rate is 7% of the token value generated through your promotion, paid from Taongaf's platform fee rather than reducing the creator's 90% share. We may adjust this rate for future promotions with notice; already-generated commissions aren't affected retroactively.

Your wallet tracks tokens earned from content sales and Hustle commissions. To withdraw real money, you'll need to connect a Stripe Connect account, which handles identity verification and the actual transfer of funds. Taongaf doesn't hold your payout funds beyond what's needed to process a withdrawal, and payout timing depends on Stripe's processing and your bank or card issuer.

You're responsible for any taxes owed on your earnings in your jurisdiction. Taongaf doesn't provide tax, legal or financial advice.

Taongaf includes wall posts, follows, direct messages, comments and reactions. These are meant to connect readers and creators directly. You can control who sees your content through visibility settings, block anyone you don't want contact from, and report content or accounts that break these Terms. We may act on reports at our discretion, including removing content or restricting accounts.

If you believe content on Taongaf infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us with a description of the work, the infringing content's location, and your contact details. We'll review valid complaints and remove infringing content where appropriate.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a risk to the Platform or other users, or where required by law. Where possible, we'll try to give notice and a chance to resolve the issue first. Wallet balances earned before termination remain subject to standard payout processing, except where an account is terminated for fraud or abuse.

Taongaf is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or that content published by users is accurate or appropriate. Content published on Taongaf reflects the views of individual creators, not Taongaf. To the extent permitted by law, Taongaf isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of earnings, data or content.

We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. We'll post the updated Terms here with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you. Continuing to use Taongaf after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
